KHT
The mechanical engineering company, founded in 1986 and headquartered in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, specialises in industrial solutions, warehouse logistics and in-store concepts. As a fully owned subsidiary of KNAPP AG, KHT is one of the leading providers in this field. The company approached us with the task of developing a modern, device-independent and easy-to-use interface for the KHT MultiScan. This is a mobile recording station for article dimensions and weights.
With the development and launch of the new software for our measurement technology products, we can further consolidate our market-leading position. At the same time, we have created an elementary basis for further strategic product developments in short time-to-market cycles.
Project implementation
Once the requirements for the new solution were established, we worked with the KHT project team to develop an intuitive operating process for the MultiScan. The system should guide the user through the scanning process and require as few manual operations as possible. The new solution was designed in such a way that future customer requirements, measuring devices and export interfaces can be integrated without affecting the further development of the product.
In addition to the complete revision of the usability, attention was paid to developing a solution that works device-independently (touch PC and tablet) and at the same time supports required additional measuring devices. For example, cameras, scales, laser measurement systems, etc. can be integrated into the workflow. The measurement data is collected by our software and prepared for display and processing on mobile devices.
Project benefits
The work processes for KHT customers have been accelerated and simplified by the new software. In addition, thanks to the integration of our system, the user interface can be displayed on several (mobile) devices, which was previously not possible with the Windows desktop application. With the new MultiScan software, KHT can respond more flexibly to customer requests. Special customer adaptations can be made very easily in parallel to product development.
