Customer request/problem
Our client is a payment provider in the online payment sector and a very successful global player. In order to grow further in the global market and to offer new solutions,the current platforms needed to be replaced with next generation platforms. To create the basis for highly innovative solutions, our client founded a brand new company consisting of a team of innovative software developers and experienced domain experts.
Our scope of our work includes support in recruiting, process definition, organisation set-up, tool selection and infrastructure provision. In terms of organisation, we have created a new software development unit consisting of several software teams. These include a QA and Operations team, and a Requirement/Solutions team. In total, the unit consists of around 50 people with locations in Austria and Italy.
Implementation
In the course of recruiting, more than 350 people worldwide were interviewed after professional pre-selection and of these, approx. 50 people from 10 nations were hired to create the necessary measures. For the total of 5 teams at two locations, a modern, customised software development process composed of agile and proven methods was defined. The aim of this process definition was the inherent documentation and traceability of requirements up to operation. The required tools for the process were evaluated and configured, and training courses and tutorials for the entire team were recorded and created.
Challenges
The implementation was a big challenge due to the many different stakeholders, existing teams, nations and harmonisations with existing solutions.
Benefit for the customer
Against the background of our consulting competences we created an innovative and powerful software unit for our customer which develops the next generation platform for global use in all markets.
