Customer request/problem
Our client is a very successful global player and payment provider in the online payment sector. In order to grow further in the global market and to be able to offer new solutions, there was a need to create a next generation platform.
The requirements of the new platform are based on the expected volume of the financial transactions for a global rollout on all markets. All existing business logics are to be implemented in a highly scalable way and the prerequisites for the development of new business models are to be created.
Implementation
In the course of the implementation we analysed the existing 5 platforms (in several countries) and identified commonalities between them in order to achieve high availability and scalability.
After an extensive evaluation of technology candidates and a selection based ondifferent prototypes, the software and associated architecture guidelines were created in the team.
The architecture is based on a highly scalable microservice architecture, which is designed to be highly available for global operation.
Challenges
The challenges of this project were and still are the different types of technology and therefore the technical complexity as well as the international cooperation.
